You might wonder how a small business like Craft'n Pages comes together, especially when at first glance you might see two women of different ages (let's be honest -- Sarah is the baby and Wendy is the grandma), different occupations (designer vs photographer), life experiences and perspectives separated by 900 miles and six states.Â
However, the core of Craft'n Pages and the heart of Sarah and Wendy's friendship is the millions of overlapping interests and steady, consistent showing up for one another and the support of every "what if" and "why not" and "maybe this."

Years ago, our paths first crossed while we showed up for a global online community supporting small business owners (something we both proudly are) in large online workshops, virtual meetings for various projects, and then, finally, one beautiful in-person meeting back in 2023. From there it's been incredible support as we navigate changing jobs and volunteer roles and that steadfast commitment to helping others find joy and helping small business owners succeed. We've only met in person five times -- in Wisconsin, Maryland and North Carolina! And yet there are a thousand audio notes and a hundred online chats to prove a relationship that is sturdy, steady and full of lots of LOL moments.Â

Â
Our friendship really took off in 2025 as we added more frequent virtual book club and online craft nights together to our calendars.Â

During one virtual tea time in mid-September 2025, we joked about an Instagram reel we saw that was all about "I wish I could get paid to read books/do what I love" and we talked about gifting people the joy and slow-down moments we'd been gifting ourselves through books and crafts.Â
Â

And then there was a pause as we looked into the screen at one another and one of us said, "Wait, but could we..." and the other said something like, "What if we..." and then we spent another hour spitting out ideas of what such a business could look like.Â
A spreadsheet was born within 12 hours and the rest is history -- we spoke a dream out loud, aimed big, moved fast and delivered our first series of book-and-craft-pairing boxes just 9 weeks after saying "what if" on that computer screen.Â
We've had more than one "big talk" moment to lay out guidelines that protect our friendship first and foremost -- without that foundation, we just could never move on. We've added to our dream (hello, merch!) and built up a following with our emails and social media presence and we celebrate EVERY.SINGLE.ACCOMPLISHMENT. Seriously, this business is basically built on exclamation marks, audio notes and hearts on Google Meet calls.Â
It is pretty amazing to be living a business that's built on what we love and what we so hope we can gift to others -- peace, joy, creativity, childlike wonder and little moments.Â
And we're just getting started.Â
